Kim Kardashian vs Jeffree Star
Fans are livid that Kim Kardashian defended beauty guru Jeffree Star’s racist remarks on Snapchat after he criticized her swatch skills. Kim’s response to telling fans to get over it and “move on” was not taken lightly.
Jeffree Star stirred up some controversy on Twitter about KKW’s newest powder contour swatches by slamming them for looking chalky. He also criticized Kim Kardashian’s makeup swatching skills. Kim’s fans were not for this and started pulling up racist slurs and comments Star made 12 years ago. Fans were surprised when Kim took to snapchat to DEFEND Jeffree Star rather than condemning him.
“Guys, I see you being so petty and bringing up things in his past where [Jeffree] was negative. But, he’s also apologized for those things and I get it’s a serious deal if you say racial things,” Kim said in her August 15 video. “But, I do believe in people changing and people that apologize; I will give them the benefit of the doubt and accept and change and move on. And, I know better than anyone that I hate when people bring up my past, or mistakes that I’ve made in the past… I welcome honest comments about my products.”
A lot of these remarks that Star has made in the past involve screaming the n-word in public and joking that he wanted to throw acid on a black woman’s face so that her skin would be “lighter.” Although Jeffree Star has apologized publicly for his racial remarks, Kim’s fans are not just going to let it go. They were furious to see she associated herself with someone like that.
Update: Kim Kardashian has issued an apology to her fans claiming it was not her place to defend someone as she didn’t know the whole situation.
